What is the definition of shade grown? When you envision agriculture, quite often what comes to mind are rows and rows of manicured plants out in an open field. Maybe like such:   Large scale agriculture that consumes significant amounts of space, although efficient, is not sustainable for communities or the land.  When plants are grown in such vast quantities they are often planted in a monoculture. Meaning one plant is grown in the large area vs. traditional farming methods that include growing multiple crops on one piece of land. The Magic Behind Coffee

Abracadabra! Shazaam! Presto! What usually comes to mind with these words? Suits, top hats, balloons or wands. Magicians are a unique species of entertainer who astound and amaze kids and adults alike. Our food and beverage products can sometimes feel a bit like magic, too. Somehow, in some invisible way, this edible or drinkable item arrives on our shelf, ready to consume! However, all good magicians put in countless hours perfecting their trick. Behind the Blends - BaanMai

In the previous post, we gave you the inside scoop on our Karuna blend. Now we’re excited to tell you more about ENP Coffee’s home roast, the BaanMai blend. The blend name is a combination of the Thai word Baan, meaning home, and the original stomping grounds for the elephants of Elephant Nature Park – the Chiang Mai province.   Source: Google Maps This blend represents the mission of ENP: to provide “forever homes” for elephants that have been taken away from everything that was their home.
